Hoori Handmade: An Exhibition of Embroidery, Story and Survival | April 2026 | Corban & Blair, Sydney

We were honoured to present Hoori Handmade: An Exhibition of Embroidery, Story and Survival at Corban & Blair, sharing the story behind Hoori Handmade and the lives of the women artisans we work with in Afghanistan.

This exhibition was about more than embroidery. It highlighted the realities women face in Afghanistan today, and how—despite significant challenges—they continue to create income, preserve tradition, and build independence for themselves and their families through their work.

We were pleased to showcase and sell handmade pieces created by our talented artisans, with proceeds directly supporting women in Afghanistan and contributing to the sustainability and growth of this work.

We extend our sincere thanks to the team at Corban & Blair, Bobbi Mahlab AM, Gillian Corban, and Julie Irland for their generous support in bringing this exhibition to life. We are also deeply grateful to everyone who visited, and who took the time to engage, listen, and support so meaningfully.

Although the exhibition has concluded, the story continues. A selection of works remains on display at Corban & Blair, and the full collection is available online.
