She Who Tastes, Knows – Creative Collaboration | 2026

We were proud to collaborate on the launch of She Who Tastes, Knows by writer Durkhanai Ayubi, bringing together literature, art, and traditional Afghan craftsmanship in a meaningful creative project.

For this collaboration, 10 unique embroidered pieces were commissioned, inspired by the themes of the book. The artworks were designed by artist Kat Rae and Mursal Azizi, and carefully brought to life through hand embroidery by seven talented women artisans from Hoori Handmade in Afghanistan.

Each piece reflects not only artistic expression, but also the lived realities of the women who created them. Through their skill and dedication, these artisans preserve traditional Afghan embroidery while earning a dignified income—many as the sole providers for their families. Their work embodies resilience, creativity, and hope.
